MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004402 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 22, 2024, for 'fallen fruits collection device.'

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A fallen fruits collection device, comprising a platform 1 positioned on a ground surface spread with fruits fallen from trees and installed with a set of L-shaped rods 2 having first end attached with platform 1 and second ends installed with a cylindrical extendable member 3 via a pair of telescopically operated bars 4, a touch enabled screen 5 access by user to give input command regarding fruits collection, a microcontroller linked with screen 5 that process input command and activates a camera 6 detecting exact location and dimension of fruits, multiple elongated links 7 installed with member 3 via a set of motorized sliders 8 for sliding links 7 to maintain optimum gaps between links 7, multiple motorized omnidirectional wheels 9 for positioning platform 1 in proximity to fruits, a set of L-shaped flaps 10 for positioning gripped fruits on conveyer 11, a weight sensor for detecting fruits weight."
