MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441013332 A) filed by Christo Eljin Raj E, Thiruvattar, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 23, 2024, for 'ferris wheel turbine.'
Inventor(s) include Christo Eljin Raj E.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "To achieve a power producing system that is independent of natural sources, a Ferris wheel based structure is devised. A weight is attached to one point of the wheel whose movement is controlled by a motor attached to it. This may spare a small electric energy, but which is considerably low or negligible on comparing the power generated. This weight moves along the circumference of the wheel as it moves on the gravitational pull creates the rotation continuously in the wheel generating high torque in the rotor shaft as mentioned in fig 1. The torque produced will be maximum when the mass is placed at 0 degree or 180 degree. The speed of the rotor can be adjusted by varying the position of mass connected motor between 270 to 360 or 180 to 270 degrees."
