MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511132722 A) filed by Vidhu Gupta; and Rupali Gupta, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Dec. 28, 2025, for 'fibre-reinforced polypropylene synthetic paper and method thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Vidhu Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a fibre-reinforced polypropylene synthetic paper (100) comprising at least one polypropylene layer (102, 104) and a fibre-containing composite layer (106) incorporating synthetic fibres (108) and a thermoplastic binder (110). During manufacture, the binder (110) undergoes melt-phase flow and wetting around the fibres (108) to form fibre-anchoring regions (112) that secure the fibres within and across the polypropylene layers (102, 104). This melt-flow interaction promotes polymer-chain interdiffusion and interfacial adhesion between the binder (110) and the polypropylene material, thereby consolidating the structure into a unified, non-laminated composite sheet (100) with fibres embedded in a continuous polypropylene matrix. The invention further provides a method (200) including forming polypropylene layers, preparing the fibre-containing composite layer (106), and inducing binder melting, generating anchoring regions (112), and cooling to obtain the consolidated synthetic paper (100)."
