MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617007698 A) filed by Elementis Specialties Inc., New Jersey, U.S.A., on Jan. 27, for 'film former.'

Inventor(s) include Valentin-Burzynksi, Silke Wiemda Klara; Chapermeier, Sabine; Chun-Hung, Yen; and Ming-Liang, Yen.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A polyester is described, which is obtained by the reaction of: (i) a linear or branched C7-C32 mono-alcohol, or mixtures thereof; (ii) citric acid; and (iii) dipropylene glycol or a polypropylene. Also described is the use of polyesters in sunscreen compositions, sunscreen compositions comprising the polyesters and a method for the manufacture of a sunscreen composition."

The patent application was internationally filed on July 12, 2024, under International application No.PCT/IB2024/056814.
