MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547094063 A) filed by Mann+Hummel GmbH, Ludwigsburg, Germany, on Sept. 30, for 'filter device for gaseous media, filter element, use of a filter element, and method for assembling a filter device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a filter device (10) for gaseous media. The filter device (10) comprises a filter housing (26) with at least one inlet opening (168) for a gaseous medium that is to be purified and with at least one outlet opening (40) for the purified gaseous medium. A filter element (16) is arranged in the filter housing (26). The filter housing (26) comprises a first housing part (12), which has a filter element receiving space (36) in which the filter element (16) is arranged. The filter housing (26) comprises a second housing part (18), on which the at least one inlet opening (168) is arranged and which has parts (162) of at least one cyclone separator (166). The second housing part (18) closes a service opening in the first housing part (12), and the first and the second housing part (12, 18) are releasably connected to each other. On a side facing the second housing part (18), the filter element (16) has a seal (96) which runs around an axis (22) and which has a peripheral sealing portion with a radially sealing action. A radially outer circumferential side of the sealing portion bears sealingly against a radially inner interior lateral surface of the first housing part (12). A rib (164), which runs around at least partially and projects from the second housing part (18) in the axial direction, exerts a pressing force on the seal (96) in order to press the sealing portion onto the interior lateral surface of the first housing part (12)."
