MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547094101 A) filed by Mann+Hummel GmbH, Ludwigsburg, Germany, on Sept. 30, for 'filter element for gaseous media, filter device, use of a filter element, and method for assembling a filter device.'

Inventor(s) include Ruhland, Klaus-Dieter; and Kaufmann, Michael.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a filter element (16) for gaseous media for a filter device, comprising at least one filter medium body (90) with an inflow side (226) and an outflow side (228), each of which lies on axial filter medium body (90) ends facing away from each other on an imaginary axis (22), and a frame element (100) which at least partly surrounds the filter medium body (90) and which projects radially beyond the filter medium body (90) with respect to the axis (22) and is connected to the filter medium body (90). A seal (96) which surrounds the axis (22) is provided on the frame element (100) side facing away from the inflow side (226), and at least one support section (120A, 120B, 120C) is provided on the frame element (100) side facing the outflow side (228), said support section allowing the filter element (16) to be supported at least in the axial direction in a filter housing of a filter device. The at least one support section (120A, 120B, 120C) has at least two support surfaces (122A, 122B, 122C) which are distributed over the circumferential extension with respect to the axis (22) and which are mutually spaced in the axial direction with respect to the axis (22), and the circumferential seal (96) has a circumferential seal web (146) which projects in the axial direction with respect to the axis (22) and which is designed to at least partly seal radially against a corresponding seal surface of the filter housing."

The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 22, 2024, under International application No.PCT/EP2024/057706.
