MUMBAI, India, Dec. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311037733 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, New Delhi, on June 1, 2023, for 'flexible free-standing electrodes and a method of preparation thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Nandan, Bhanu; Vashishth, Ekta; Raulo, Avinash; and Srivastava, Rajiv.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 6, under issue no. 49/2024.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates a flexible free-standing electrode and a method of preparation thereof for supercapacitor, comprising a metal oxide comprising tin oxide (SnO2); and a biomass derived carbon cloth, wherein, the SnO2 is uniformly distributed over the biomass derived carbon cloth. The flexible and free-standing electrode material (SnO2@CF) is synthesized by using waste cotton cloth via solvothermal synthesis followed by carbonization for supercapacitor application."
