MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018219 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 13, 2024, for 'floor mat installation assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Diptonil Banerjee.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A floor mat installation assistive device, comprises of a housing 1 positioned on a ground surface being installed with a floor mat, a touch enabled screen 2 to give commands for removing air bubbles from underneath the floor mat, a camera 3 for detecting location of floor mat, plurality of motorized omnidirectional wheels 4 for maneuvering the housing 1, a plate 5 installed with the housing 1 via, a pair of electromagnetic springs 7 configured between a pair of L-shaped telescopically operated rods 6 and a plate 5 for removing the trapped air bubble, a pair of L-shaped telescopically operated bars 8 for positioning a pair of suction cups 9 to prevent alternation of orientation of floor mat, and a speaker 10 mounted on the housing 1 for notifying the user regarding cracks in the floor mat."
