MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013473 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'food container carriage assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Deepak Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A food container carriage assistive device, comprising: i) a cuboidal hollow body 1 configured with a set of rods 2 for providing support to said body 1 over a fixed surface, wherein a set of extendable plates 3 are configured within said body 1 for segregating said body 1 into multiple sections for placing different type of food containers to be carried by a user; ii) a touch enabled screen installed on sad body 1 for enabling said user to give input commands for placing said food containers within said body 1, along with specifying type of food stored within each of said containers, wherein a microcontroller linked with said screen processes said input commands and actuates a motorized door 5 configured with said body 1 to open for allowing said user to position said food containers on said plates 3; iii) a camera 6 mounted within said body 1 for capturing multiple images of said food containers, wherein said microcontroller processes said captured images by means of an artificial intelligence protocol encrypted within said microcontroller for detecting dimensions of food containers, in accordance to which said microcontroller actuates said plates 3 to extend, followed by actuation of a motorized slider 7 configured with said plates 3 for translating said plates 3 towards/away from each other in order to appropriately accommodate said food containers on said plates 3; iv) a Peltier unit configured within each of said compartments, wherein said microcontroller via said camera 6 detects food container placed in said compartments, and based on said detected food container and user-defined type of food items stored in each of said food containers, said microcontroller determines a temperature to be maintained within each of said compartments and accordingly activates said Peltier unit for maintaining said determined temperature in said compartments; and v) a set of motorized sliding units 8 configured with each of said rods 2 that are actuated by said microcontroller for translating said rods 2 towards top portion of said body 1, wherein a motorized ball and socket joint is configured between each of said sliding units 8 and rods 2 that is actuated by said microcontroller for tilting and orienting said rods 2 perpendicular with respect to said sliding units 8 in a manner to join said rods 2 to form a pair of handles, in view of allowing said user to carry said body 1 as per requirement. 2) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein a temperature sensor is positioned within each of said compartments for detecting temperature of said compartments, and in case said detected temperature mismatches said determined temperature, said microcontroller regulates working of said Peltier unit for maintaining said determined temperature of said compartment in view of preventing spoilage of said food item. 3) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein an electronic nozzle 9 is attached with a chamber 10 stored with fragrance and configured on said body 1 that is actuated by said microcontroller for dispensing said fragrance in view of eliminating odor of said food item nearby said body 1. 4) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein a battery is associated with said device for supplying power to electrical and electronically operated components associated with said device."
