MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024848 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'food plates holding device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Radhika Giri; Dr. Mamta; Vibhuti Gautam; and Shazia Bashir.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A food plates holding device comprises of a circular expandable platform installed with a pair of extendable plates 1, a pair of handles 2 are attached with the plates for lifting the platform, a microphone 3 positioned on the handles 2 for enabling the user to give voice commands, an expandable pulley 4 arrangement integrated within the platform for increasing diameter of the platform, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 mounted on one of the plates for capturing and processing multiple images of the plates, a drawer arrangement 6 for covering entire stack of the plates, pair of motorized clamps 7 installed with the plates to grip and maintain an optimum gap between consecutive plates, motorized sliders 8 configured between the plates and clamps for translating the pins away from each other."
