MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517058157 A) filed by Kabaya Foods Corporation, Okayama, Japan, on June 17, for 'food raw material and method for producing same and food.'

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention addresses the problem of providing a food raw material which, while utilizing coffee extraction residues, provides more cacao flavor than conventional fermentation products of coffee extraction residues. A method for producing a food raw material according to the present invention comprises a first drying step and a processing step. In the first drying step, a coffee bean extract residue or ground product thereof is dried to obtain a dried residue. In the processing step, the dried residue is processed by fermentation or with an enzyme to obtain a processed material. In the processing step, the dried residue having an average particle diameter in the range of 0.015 mm-2.20 mm inclusive is processed by fermentation or with an enzyme."
