MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020709 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 19, 2024, for 'footwear cleaning device for entrance.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Simrat Brar; Dr. Chhinder Kaur; and Abhilasha Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A footwear cleaning device for entrance, comprising a cuboidal body 1 positioned outside entrance of an enclosure, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 detects condition of footwear, a pair of slots 3 gets uncovered by a motorized lid 4, a speaker 5 notifies commuter to place foot in slots 3, plurality of primary motorized brushes 6 removes dirt, multiple ultrasonic sensors detect dimensions and shape of the footwear, plurality of secondary motorized brushes 8 configured at a base portion of slots 3 for removing dust/dirt from sole of footwear, and plurality of iris pores gets opened and followed by actuation of a pair of suction units for generating a vacuum pressure for withdrawing dust/dirt and collecting dust/dirt in a container paired with each of suction units."
