MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010264 A) filed by Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'formulation of herbal hand sanitizer and moisturizer and method thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Pooja Singh; Sahana Mukherjee; and Shoma Paul Nandi.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention formulation of herbal hand sanitizer and moisturizer and method thereof. Herbal hand sanitizer and moisturizer, which includes Ethanol extracts of Azadirachta indica (leaves), Rosa indica (petals), Syzygium aromaticum (buds), Aloe vera (leaves) and Mikania micrantha (whole plant), was used for the first time for the herbal formulation of hand wash and moisturizer. Each herbal extract was checked for its antimicrobial activity against various pathogenic bacteria. Herbal formulation (equal volume of each ethanol extract) was used to know the antimicrobial activity. Toxicity of the herbal formulation would be evaluated using human skin cell line."
