Inventor(s) include Bapu Koundinya Desiraju; Ramachandran Thiruvengadam; Shinjini Bhatnagar; and Nitya Wadhwa.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Garbh-Ini Ultrasound Image-Based Gestational Age Estimation System (GUAGE) The present invention comprises an Ultrasound Image-Based Gestational Age Estimation System and a method thereof. The invention introduces advanced deep learning models designed to estimate gestational age (GA) by utilizing ultrasound (US) images. The Garbh-Ini Ultrasound image-based Gestational Age Estimator (GAUGE) is specifically trained on ultrasound images of the fetal head. The invention also includes a mechanism to identify and discard images in the presence of data distribution shifts, thereby minimizing the risk of inaccurate predictions. Thus this method has provides clinicians with a sophisticated, accurate efficient and one of its kind tool for gestational age estimation."
