MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019429 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'gas leakage prevention device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A gas leakage prevention device comprising a circular body 1 accessed by user for positioning of a member 2 within a ring for allowing passage of waste water, a filter 7 crafted on the body 1 for filtering out any debris from the member 2, plurality of suction units 3 embedded on outer periphery of the body 1 for affixing the body 1 with the ring, a motorized hinge joint 4 integrated within the member 2 for deploying a thin layer membrane for prevention of accumulation of harmful gases within the member 2, multiple flaps 5 configured with motorized pivot joint 6 for collecting waste water present around the body 1 and a motorized pivot joint 6 configured with the multiple flaps 5 for preventing any blockage within the member 2."
