MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517064889 A) filed by Shell Internationale Research Maatschappij B. V., Hague, Netherlands, on July 8, for 'gold-containing catalyst for removal of hydrogen in oxygen-rich streams.'
Inventor(s) include Van Den Brink, Peter John; Munnik, Peter; Boehme, Frank; and Lose, Wolfgang Dirk.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A process for removing hydrogen from an oxygen gas stream includes electrolysing water in an electrolyser to generate a hydrogen-rich stream and an oxygen-rich stream. The oxygen-rich stream includes hydrogen. The process also includes feeding the oxygen-rich stream to a reactor having a gold-containing catalyst and contacting, in the reactor, the oxygen-rich stream with the gold-containing catalyst. The gold-containing catalyst includes gold and a second metal on an oxidic support and an oxygen partial pressure of the oxygen-rich stream in the reactor is greater than 1 bar."
The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 21, 2023, under International application No.PCT/US2023/085299.
