MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411017918 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 12, 2024, for 'golf cup management device.'

Inventor(s) include Manish Joshi.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A golf cup management device, comprises of a first and a second ring attached parallelly with each other via a telescopically operated link positioned in a golf cup, an ultrasonic sensor 5 to detect depth of the cup and the link to extend/retract accordingly for accommodating the rings with the cup, a computing unit accessed by a user to provide input commands for holding a golf flag post within the cup, a laser acuity sensor to detect diameter of the flap post, a primary motorized iris lid 6 embedded with the first ring to close for gripping the flap post within the ring, a secondary motorized iris lid 4 embedded with the second ring to close followed by retraction of the link towards the first ring as means of taking the golf ball out of the golf cup."
