MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023997 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'hair cutting assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An hair cutting assistive device, comprising a cylindrical shaped housing 1 having proximal and distal end developed to accommodate a hair trimmer, a handle 2 installed at proximal end to position housing 1 over trimmer, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 3 to determine diameter of trimmer, a motorized drawer arrangement 4 for expanding or retracting to housing 1, a microphone 5 to receive voice commands, a motorized sliding unit 6 configured over inner periphery of housing 1 for translating a comb 7 attached with sliding unit 6 for regulating distance of hairs from trimmer, plurality of suction units 8 are configured over inner periphery of housing 1 to affix trimmer within housing 1, a vibration unit 9 to produce for aiding accumulation of cut hairs within housing 1, a waste chamber 10 to collect cut hairs, a suction pump 11 to assist collection of cut hairs within chamber 10."
