MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010752 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 15, 2024, for 'hair cutting assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Sunil Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hair cutting assistive device comprising a circular frame 1 developed to be worn by a user on user's shoulder portion at time of getting a haircut, a laser acuity sensor for detecting distance between frame 1 and user's neck, multiple telescopic links 2 to extend towards user's neck in order to deploy a stretchable sheet 9, a touch enabled screen 3 to select type of haircut and hair length required by user, a camera 4 mounted on frame 1 to monitor an approach adapted by a concerned person for cutting user's hair in accordance to the user-specified detail, a speaker 5 for generating a voice-command to assist concerned person while cutting users' hair, a microphone 6 to provide input voice commands regarding requirement of a container 7 during cutting process, and a robotic link 8 for placing container 7 in proximity to user."
