MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013320 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 23, 2024, for 'hand-held cutting device for eatables.'
Inventor(s) include Rohini Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hand-held cutting device for eatables comprises of a sharp-edged plate 1 attached with a handle 2 that is accessed by a user to cut an eatable, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 3 determining dimension of eatable for actuating a holographic projection unit 4 for projecting a holographic image on eatable to assist user, a microphone 5 provide input regarding requirement of teeth while cutting eatable for actuating a first motorized slider 6 in vertical orientation for positioning a second slider 7, an ultrasonic sensor detecting distance between second slider 7 and eatable for providing to and fro motion to multiple teeth for cutting eatable, and magneto-inductive sensor detecting sharpness of plate 1 for actuating a robotic link 8 for rubbing sharp edge portion to increase sharpness of plate 1 by means of abrasive sheet 9."
