MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013321 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 23, 2024, for 'hand held eating assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Rohit Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hand held eating assistive device, comprising a hemi-spherical body 1 held a user near an eatable, a cushioned member is crafted on body 1 for providing comfort to user, a laser sensor installed on body 1 for detecting distance between fingers and length of fingers, a first motorized slider 2 arranged on body 1 for providing movement to multiple rings 3 in which user inserts fingers, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 captures images of eatable and accordingly an appropriate positioning of body 1 over eatable is detected, a holographic projection unit 8 mapped on body 1 which assists user in positioning body 1 over eatable, an ultrasonic sensor installed on body 1 which detects position of an opening over eatable, multiple telescopic spikes 6 extend to grip eatable within opening and after gripping of eatable the user is required consume eatable."
