MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011163 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 10, for 'hand-held material transferring assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hand-held material transferring assistive device, comprises of an elongated body 101 having a handle 102 which gripped by a user to position distal end in proximity to heap of material positioned on ground surface, an imaging unit 103 determines distance of heap from distal end, an extendable rod 104 extend/retract for positioning distal end on heap, a shovel shaped structure 105 configured with curved chamber 106, a motorized hinge joint 107 for providing a converging/diverging movement to a flap for closing chamber 106, thus storing extracted materials in chamber 106, a motorized ball and socket joint 108 provides required movement to structure 105 for elevating structure 105 from surface, a microphone 109 enables user to provide input voice commands to dispense collected material at a user-desired location, a plate 201 arranged in chamber 106 by means of a linear actuator 202 extend/retract for pushing onto surface."
