MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531019808 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 5, for 'handheld bolt fastening/unfastening assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Sarita Mohapatra.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A handheld bolt fastening/unfastening assistive device consisting a C-shaped attached with a handle 102 layered with a silicone member for providing a secured grip to the user, to position the body 101 in proximity to a junction of an installed nut and bolt, a microphone 103 for enabling a user to provide input voice commands for fastening/unfastening of the bolt, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 104 to determine dimensions of the bolt, a bar 105 configured with a pair of motorized clamps 106, each via a motorized sliding unit 107 for adjusting width of the clamps 106 to grab the upper and lower portions of the bolt, a rotational transmission arrangement 108 for rotating the bolt, thus assisting the user in unfastening/fastening of the bolt, as per requirement."
