MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026052 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'handheld candy collection device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A handheld candy collection device comprises of a rectangular shaped body 1 attached with an extendable handle 2 gripped by a user to position the body 1 in an auxiliary container stored with candies, a touch enabled screen 3 to give input commands regarding number of the candies to be fetched from the container, a motorized iris lid 4 to open/close for opening the user-defined number of the holes 5, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting dimensions of the user's handle 2, a speaker 9 for positioning the body 1 in the container for allowing collection of the user-defined number of the candies in the holes 5, an imaging unit 8 for detecting diameter of the candies, based on the detected diameter, and a pair of telescopically operated links 6 to extend for gripping the candies via a suction cup 7."
