MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411003676 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 18, 2024, for 'head lice removing device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A head lice removing device comprising, a cylindrical body 1 developed to be installed on a fixed surface, an inverted L-shaped telescopic rod 2 is attached with body 1 for providing support to body 1 on surface, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 3 mounted on body 1 to determine positioning of user's head, a microphone 4 installed on body 1 for enabling user to provide input voice commands to initiate lice removing process, a telescopically operated U-shaped hollow frame 5 configured with body 1 for extending towards user's hairs that aids in engaging of multiple tines attached with frame 5, a motorized sliding unit configured on frame 5 for positioning tines, multiple suction units 8 positioned on frame 5 for cleaning of dirt and lice collected on tines during combing, air blower 10 assembled on frame 5 for drying hairs by blowing air on hairs."
