MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531017975 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 28, for 'head support device for chairs.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A head support device for chairs, comprising a telescopic rod 101 having a clamp 103 attached at a bottom end of the rod 101, a pair of sliding units 104 installed horizontally on a rectangular plate 105 installed at an upper end of the rod 101 by means of a ball and socket joint 106, a plurality of cushioned curved flaps 107 is disposed on the sliding units 104 for resting of a head, plates 105 are connected with sliding units 104 by means of damping units, plurality of motorized silicon balls embedded on the flaps 107 for imparting a massage to the user, an imaging unit 108 for recording and processing images in a vicinity of the rod 101, to determine an incorrect head posture, a speaker 109 provided on the plate 105 to generate and audio warning regarding sitting in a correct posture and the rod 101."
