MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010758 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 15, 2024, for 'head supporting device for travelling.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A head supporting device for travelling, comprising an extendable shaft 1 affixed over a backrest of chair by means of a suction cup 4, a hemispherical body 5 to be worn over user's head, a proximity sensor for detecting presence of suction cup 4 in contact with backrest for actuating suction unit for generating vacuum pressure for adhering suction cup 4, a camera 6 detecting dimensions on user's head for actuating an inflatable member 7 for securing user's head with body 5, an angle sensor for detecting angle of body 5 for retracting shaft 1 for pulling body 5 to maintain an optimum angle of user's head, a computing accessed by user for giving input commands regarding destination station of user, and a GPS (Global Positioning System) module fetching real-time location of user for actuating vibrating unit 8 for generating vibrational sensations for notifying user to de-board vehicle."
