MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517072489 A) filed by Nippon Steel Corporation; and Nippon Steel Hardfacing Corporation, Tokyo, on July 30, for 'hearth roll, thermal spraying material, and hearth roll production method.'
Inventor(s) include Kurisu Yasushi; Li Yu; and Sudo Hirotaka.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a hearth roll comprising a hearth roll base material and a thermal spraying coating that is formed on a surface of the hearth roll base material, said hearth roll being characterized in that: the thermal spraying coating comprises 20-80 mass% of a ceramic component and 20-80 mass% of a metal component, in terms of percentage with respect to the thermal spraying coating; the ceramic component comprises 20-80 mass% of a nitride, 0-50 mass% of a carbide, and 0-1 mass% of an oxide, in terms of percentage with respect to the thermal spraying coating; the nitride is a nitride of one or more elements selected from the group consisting of Cr, Ta, and La; the carbide is a carbide of one or more elements selected from the group consisting of Cr, Ta, and La; and the metal component is a Ni-based alloy including Cr and Mo."
The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 22, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/006474.
