According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Sea buckthorn oil is highly effective in preventing and healing cracked heels due to its unique combination of fatty acids, vitamins, and bioactive compounds. Cracked heels are often caused by dryness, loss of skin elasticity, and inflammation, which lead to painful fissures. Sea buckthorn oil addresses these issues naturally and effectively. The oil is rich in omega-7 fatty acid (palmitoleic acid), which deeply nourishes the skin, restores moisture, and strengthens the skin barrier. This helps prevent further drying and cracking. It also contains omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids, which support tissue repair and maintain skin flexibility. Vitamins A, C, and E in sea buckthorn oil provide antioxidant protection, stimulate collagen synthesis, and accelerate healing of damaged skin. Vitamin A promotes skin regeneration, vitamin C enhances tissue repair, and vitamin E improves hydration and reduces oxidative stress. Additionally, the oil has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, which soothe irritation, reduce redness, and protect against infections in fissured heels. Regular application softens thickened skin, heals existing cracks, and prevents recurrence, resulting in smooth, healthy, and resilient heels."
