MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517045814 A) filed by Abu Dhabi Polymers Co. Ltd. (BOROUGE) - Sole Proprietorship L. L. C; and Borealis Ag, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., on May 13, for 'high-stiff oriented polyethylene film for sustainable packaging.'

The application for the patent was published on May 30, under issue no. 22/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An uniaxially oriented polyethylene film, comprising multiple layers including an inner surface layer (I), an outer surface layer (O) and a core layer (C), wherein at least one of the inner surface layer (I) and the outer surface layer (O) is made of a composition comprising a multimodal linear low density ethylene (LLDPE) terpolymer component (PE1) with a density between 920 to 940 kg/m, in an amount of from 30 to 100 wt.% of based on the total weight of the respective layer composition; wherein at least two of the multiple layers are made of a composition comprising a multimodal HDPE component (PE2) with a density of more than 950 kg/m up to 970 kg/m. A laminate or an article comprising the polyethylene film as described herein, wherein the article is a packaging material. Use of the polyethylene film or the laminate as described herein for packaging of articles. A food package comprising the polyethylene film or the laminate as described herein."
