MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527056272 A) filed by Icee Holdings Pty Ltd., Tullamarine, Australia, on June 11, for 'hinge for a container.'

Inventor(s) include Hingston, Hamish; De Almeida, Sergio; and Jefferson, Derek.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "There is disclosed a hinge assembly for connecting panels made from an expandable material, comprising: a first hinge member having a first plate member configured to be positioned on a surface of one of the connecting panels and a first bottom plate configured to be embedded in the expandable material of the connecting panel; a second hinge member having a second plate member configured to be positioned on a surface of the other of the connecting panel and a second bottom plate configured to be embedded in the expandable material of the connecting panel; wherein the first plate member and the second plate member are configured to interengage to facilitate hinged movement of the connecting panels."

The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 21, 2023, under International application No.PCT/AU2023/051185.
