MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517075784 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on Aug. 8, for 'hot-rolled steel sheet and method for producing same.'
Inventor(s) include Matsui Yoichiro; Sumida Eisuke; and Kimura Hideyuki.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a hot-rolled steel sheet having excellent scale adhesion properties, especially flaky peeling resistance properties, even if the hot-rolled steel sheet has a larger sheet thickness; and a method for producing the same. This hot-rolled steel sheet has a prescribed component composition and scale on the surface thereof, the scale having an average thickness of 20 m or less. The scale has a structure that includes, in area ratio, at least 20% of magnetite, at least 40% of iron and magnetite eutectoid transformation structures, not more than 15% of wustite, and a total of at least 90% (including 100%) of magnetite, wustite, and iron and magnetite eutectoid transformation structures. The area percentage of precipitated Fe in a region from the most superficial layer of scale to 1/2 of the scale thickness in the thickness direction is at least 2%."
The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 16, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/000926.
