MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511132525 A) filed by Chandigarh University, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 27, 2025, for 'human safety in a hazardous area.'

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses an intelligent smartwatch-based human-safety system designed to monitor hazardous environmental conditions and provide real-time alerts for users in high-risk regions. The device integrates rainfall, temperature, terrain-tilt, water-flow, pressure, and rip-current sensors controlled through an Arduino-ESP32 microcontroller architecture. Upon detecting danger thresholds, the system triggers an immediate audible and visual alarm, transmits SOS alerts with GPS coordinates to authorities, and provides navigation guidance toward the nearest safe location. Additional features include voice-note transmission, gesture-based safety status updates, long-range wireless communication via LoRa, and adaptive monitoring modes based on user location. The smartwatch operates with power-optimized mechanisms and a rugged, waterproof design suitable for extreme environments."
