According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a humidifier (1) for humidifying dry fresh air (4') by means of moist exhaust air (5'), in particular of a fuel-cell system, having a housing (2) and having a humidifier block (3) which is arranged in the housing (2) and which has a membrane stack (11) through which a fresh-air stream (4) and an exhaust-air stream (5) can flow for the purposes of humidifying the dry fresh air (4') by means of the moist exhaust air (5') and which is formed with membranes (12) that are impermeable to air and permeable to moisture, wherein the membrane stack (11) has two end faces (13) situated opposite one another in a block longitudinal direction (X), wherein the humidifier block (3) has two end plates (14) arranged in each case on one of the end faces (13). Wear resistance can be increased if the respective end plate (14) is supported on the associated end face (13) via at least one elastic seal (15) that is pre-loaded in the block longitudinal direction (X)."
