MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621025549 A) filed by Medicaps University, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on March 4, for 'hybrid solar-assisted system for low-temperature heating and drying.'

Inventor(s) include Aniket Vinod Deshmukh; Sanjay M. Kherde; and Sneha Deepakrao Deshmukh.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure discloses a hybrid solar-assisted system (100) for low-temperature heating and drying, comprising an outer unit (102) with Fresnel lens solar concentrator (104) on tracking mechanism focusing radiation onto a first heat exchanger (106),that transfers heat to heat transfer fluid circulated through copper pipes (110A, 110B) in closed-loop circulation circuit (108) and an inner unit (114) comprising a thermally insulated heating and drying chamber (116) with second heat exchanger (122); nano-enhanced paraffin PCM coating on walls/bottom of the inner unit (114) for latent heat-storage and an auxiliary electric heater (118) in fluid heating chamber (120) to provide backup during solar unavailability. The solar radiated heat passes through the Fresnel lens solar concentrator (104) to the first heat exchanger (106), heats the heat transfer fluid circulating via closed loop circulating circuit (108) for heating air within the heating and drying chamber (116) enabling stable heating and drying operation."
