MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611023741 A) filed by Vivekananda Institute Of Professional Studies - Technical Campus, New Delhi, on Feb. 27, for 'hybrid solar energy harvesting and rainwater management system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hybrid solar energy harvesting and rainwater management system, comprises of a vertically oriented funnel-shaped conical structure 101 having a plurality of radially arranged structural ribs to simultaneously collect rainwater, a plurality of photovoltaic solar panels 102 through an extendable linear actuator 103 and a rotary joint 104 to allow controlled radial extension, retraction, and angular rotation, a rainwater collection conduit 105 directing collected rainwater downward under gravity, a debris removal unit to separate and discharge solid debris from collected rainwater prior to storage, a primary water storage tank 109 to store collected rainwater and returned water for further processing, a hydroelectric power generation unit to generate electrical energy from controlled water flow within the system, a multi-stage filtration unit 116 to remove suspended solids, chemical contaminants, and biological pathogens from the water."
