MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541123894 A) filed by Nitte, Mangaluru, Karnataka, on Dec. 9, 2025, for 'hybrid visible light communication and optical fiber-based indoor internet system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a hybrid visible light communication and optical fiber-based indoor internet system (100), the system (100) comprises an internet source (102) to transmit internet signals, an optical transmission medium (104) to distribute internet data, a visible light communication unit (106) performs modulation and demodulation, a visible light transmitter (108) to transmit internet data as visible light signals, a photodetector (112) to detect modulated light signals and generate electrical signals, a processing unit (116) to process data, which further comprises a data input module (118) receives data, a data distribution module (120) distributes received data, a signal conversion module (122) converts the received data into intensity-modulated signals, a visible light transmission module (124) transmits the modulated signals as visible light, a visible light detection module (126) to detect visible light signals, a data reconstruction module (128) to reconstruct the original data, an output module (132) to transmit the outputs."
