MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005084 A) filed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on Jan. 25, 2024, for 'hydraulic pump designed for higher life and dry run capacity for helicopter.'
Inventor(s) include Aftab Ahmad Khan; and Shiladitya De Sircar.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Hydraulic Pump designed for higher life and dry run capacity developed for Helicopter generates hydraulic power for the operation of Primary Flight Control Servo Actuators in Collective, Pitch, Roll and Yaw Control channels in the helicopter. For a specified Cradle (1) (swash plate) angle the flow rate is approximately proportional to the speed of the pump. Hydraulic Pump designed for dry run capacity of 30 min, when the pump discharge line is blocked and the supply to inlet is cut-off, the pump can run for 30 minutes continuously without out any catastrophic failure. The Pump is having Steel Liner for stroking piston & rate piston to eliminate direct rubbing of steel pistons with aluminium housing resulting in reduced friction losses and less pre~,~~~ pump also h~ve electroplated shoes and Ni-Cr precipitatet\Jaraeo/e4J~eel springs with heat setting to achieve required life with no drop in load during service."
