MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004739 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 23, 2024, for 'hygiene maintenance device for toilet seat.'
Inventor(s) include Rajpreet Singh.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a hygiene maintenance device for toilet seat, comprising a cuboidal body 1 developed to be positioned on a toilet seat, a handle 2 attached with body 1 for providing grip to user, a laser sensor installed body 1 for detecting seat dimension, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 7 installed on body 1 for capturing and detecting presence of stain on seat, a curved shaped expandable sheet 4 attached inside body 1 for expanding over seat to cover stain, a moisture sensor installed on sheet 4 for detecting presence of moisture on seat, an air blower 8 installed on body 1 for drying moisture by blowing air on seat, an ultrasonic sensor installed on body 1 for detecting presence of user in vicinity to toilet seat."
