MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202537066292 A) filed by Borealis Ag, Vienna, on July 11, for 'image-based prediction of ductile-to-brittle transition temperature of polymer compositions.'
Inventor(s) include Torres, Juan Pablo; Jerabek, Michael; Kiehas, Florian; and Reiter, Martin.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a computer implemented method for predicting the ductile-to-brittle transition temperature (DBTT) of a test polymer composition based on images. Furthermore, a non-transitory computer readable storage medium is provided for tangibly storing computer program instructions capable of being executed by a processor, the computer program instructions defining the steps of the aforementioned computer implemented method. Furthermore, the invention is directed to the use of fracture surface images and values indicative of the ductile-to-brittle transition temperatures (DBTT) of polymer compositions for training a machine learning algorithm."
The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 19, 2023, under International application No.PCT/EP2023/086650.
