MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202544022999 A) filed by Canon Kabushiki Kaisha, Tokyo, on March 14, for 'image forming apparatus.'

Inventor(s) include Shingo Ito; Shuichi Tetsuno; Hiroko Katagiri; and Shimpei Ishikawa.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive member (1), a toner storage portion (8), a developing member (4) configured to develop a latent image on the photosensitive member (1) into a toner image, an attachment portion (57) to which a replenishing container (40) containing toner is attached, the attachment portion (57) being configured to allow toner replenishment from the replenishing container (40) into the toner storage portion (8), and a control unit (90) configured to calculate a toner consumption amount by multiplying a count value correlated with the number of pixels constituting the toner image by a coefficient, the control unit (90) being configured to change a value of the coefficient in a case where the toner replenishment is performed."
