MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641049889 A) filed by Easwari Engineering College; and Srm Institute Of Science And Technology, Ramapuram Campus, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 20, for 'incard - centralized digital identity platform.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. V Gokula Krishnan; and Rajkumar M.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention presents a secure digital identity management system called "INCARD - Centralized Digital Identity Platform," which aims to offer privacy-preserving and cryptographically secured identity verification. The proposed system uses a QR-based architecture that makes sure that sensitive data, especially the Core ID, is never shared with anyone outside the system. This is different from traditional systems that show static identifiers. People give their demographic and biometric information, which is then safely stored after being checked. A QR code-based e-card is made with only non-sensitive information, and the important data stays safe in the backend. During verification, authorized people use a secure request-response system to talk to the system. Requests are digitally signed and checked. The system sends back a signed verification output, which protects user privacy, data integrity, and authenticity, and makes sure that communication is secure."
