MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517065024 A) filed by Danisco US Inc., Palo Alto, U.S.A., on July 8, for 'increasing the availability of fermentable sugars in fermentations.'
Inventor(s) include Van Tuijl, Jan Hendrik A; Koops, Bart C; Ramirez Angulo, Nadia; and Morales-Suan, Sindy.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Described is a method for increasing the amounts of fermentable sugars in fermentation substrates by treatment with a combination of an enzyme having transglucosidase activity and an enzyme having glucoamylase activity to hydrolyze oligo and/or polysaccharides that are not conventionally hydrolyzed by glucoamylase alone during fermentation. The method is most effective using fermentation substrates containing low amounts of maltose and maltotriose."
The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 03, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/010154.
