MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023553 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 25, 2024, for 'insect trapping device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Priyanka Gautam; and Dr. Arminder Kaur.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An insect trapping device, comprising a cuboidal body 1 positioned on a ground surface within an enclosure and installed with plurality of motorized tracked wheels 2 for maneuvering platform on ground surface, a touch enabled screen 3 to give input commands for catching insects from ground surface, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 for detecting exact location of insects accordingly wheels 2 maneuver and position body 1 in proximity to insect, a telescopically operated rod 5 positions a brush 6 over insect and a motorized ball and socket joint 7 tilt rod 5 for transferring insect underneath a chamber 8, a lid 9 is opened by a motorized pivot joint 10 for trapping insect within chamber 8, a suction unit 11 withdraws insect from chamber 8 and collects in a sieved contained paired with suction unit 11, for providing proper ventilation to insects."
