MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411014293 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 27, 2024, for 'insect trapping device for animal husbandry.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Shweta Lamba; Dr. Ranjan Sarival; and Dr. Mandeep Kaur.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An insect trapping device for animal husbandry, comprising a first and second circular platform 1, 2 connected with each other via a cylindrical net 3, and installed with a hook 4 face for hanging the platforms 1, 2 within an animal husbandry, a chamber 5 attached with first platform 1 for dispensing fragrance in view of attracting the insects and to divert said insects within the net 3 via a conical-shaped member 6 configured with the second platform 2 for trapping insects, an imaging unit 7 mounted on the first platform 1 for detecting insects and an air blower 8 installed with the second platform 2 to direct the insects within the net 3."
