MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641050998 A) filed by R N S Institute Of Technology, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on April 21, for 'intelligent multi-level accident detection and autonomous ambulance dispatch system with dynamic routing and traffic signal control.'

Inventor(s) include Durgesh Nandan; Disha N Halli; Eshanvi N Samaga; Isita Mazumder; Kamakshi Singh; Meenakshi; and Dr. Kiran P.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The proposed invention introduces an intelligent AI and IoT-based Smart Accident Detection and Emergency Response System that automatically identifies road accidents using sensors, vehicle data, and real-time monitoring, minimizing human intervention. Upon detection, the system instantly communicates critical information such as location, severity, passenger details, and health data to nearby hospitals, emergency services, and family members. It incorporates AI-driven injury prediction to help medical teams prepare in advance and enables automatic ambulance dispatch with dynamic route optimization using real-time traffic data, supported by smart traffic signal control for faster movement. Additionally, the system ensures reliability through network-independent communication using satellite or vehicle-to-vehicle relay, making it effective even in remote areas. It enhances post-accident safety by activating hazard systems, preventing secondary collisions, and monitoring vital health parameters via wearable devi."
