MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311085832 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 15, 2023, for 'intelligent system and method for cross-traffic warning to target vehicles.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a system 102 and a method 300 for warning target vehicles. The method 300 includes detecting 302 at least one target vehicle approaching towards a source vehicle using a plurality of sensors associated with the system 102 and responsive to the detection, determining 304 a time to collision between the source vehicle and the at least one target vehicle. Further, the method 300 includes determining 306 that the time to collision is less than a first predefined range, and activating 308 a lighting module of the source vehicle at a variable frequency to provide a visual warning to a user of the at least one target vehicle. Further, the method 300 includes determining 310 that the time to collision is less than a second predefined range, and sending 312 an alert signal to the at least one target vehicle."
