MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311082461 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 4, 2023, for 'interior lighting control system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides an interior lighting control system (100) for a vehicle (102). The system (100) may include an image capturing unit (106) that captures one or more images of one or more regions (116) of an interior of the vehicle (102). The system (100) includes one or more light blocking units that operably adjust opacity of one or more windows (104) of the vehicle (102), and a lighting unit (112) that operably emits light towards the regions (116). The system (100) includes a controller (110) that determines a brightness level at each of the regions (116) based on the images captured by the image capturing unit (106), and operably actuates the light blocking units, and the lighting unit (112) based on a difference between a brightness threshold selected for each region and the corresponding brightness level determined by the controller (110)."
