MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311085532 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 14, 2023, for 'iot-based body hydration level maintenance device.'

Inventor(s) include Navanjot Singh; and Dr. Chhinder Kaur Dhaliwal.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An IOT-based body hydration level maintenance device, comprises of a pair of coupling members 1 developed to fit into one another to form a button that is accessed by a user for attaching button on user's clothes, a sensing module 2 for monitoring moisture level on user's body corresponding to level of sweat secreted by user's body, a processing unit sends an alert over a computing unit that is installed with a user-interface that is accessed by user for providing details including user's age, weight and gender, in accordance to which processing unit evaluates hydration level of user on a regular basis which is notified to user via interface, a database for storing the data and based on evaluated hydration level of user, processing unit evaluates details including required water intake, chances of dehydration or initiation of any medical condition of user which is notified to user via interface."
