MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641004944 A) filed by Hindusthan College Of Arts And Science, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Jan. 19, for 'iot-based seismic monitoring system with fluorescent nanomaterial-enhanced fiber-optic sensing.'
Inventor(s) include Swathi J B; T. Sasikala; V. Balaprakash; and S. Anuradha.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This is the seismic monitoring system that integrates fluorescent nanomaterialfunctionalized fiber optic sensors with loT based data acquisition and transmission. This fiber optic sensor provides improved sensitivity to micro vibrations due to photonic interaction between guided light and nanomaterials. The system transmits real time data. with the help of distributed loT network to centralized cloud for data analysis, early warning and structural health monitoring."
